Mendip Migration 2026

The Mendip Migration is an annual event when cavers from the Mendips come to the GSG hut in Elphin and join up with Scottish cavers for caving, digging, exploration and a great time.

The Elphin hut has been reserved for GSG Members (and their personal guests)from pm Tuesday 21st April to am Tuesday 5th May.The early May Bank Holiday weekend is generally popular and we continue to encourage hut bookings in advance as usual to the Bookings Secretary -night bookings in May should be accompanied by hut fees paid in advance to the GSG bank account and an email to both the Bookings Secretary and the GSG Treasurer () containing your name, amount paid, payment reference, date and number of member/guest nights booked.Bank Account Name:- Grampian Speleological GroupSort code:- 80-02-19, Account Number:- 00246373Please use a clear bank payment reference like MM26 2P4N (two people 4 nights each).

Personal guests MUST be paid for in advance for all bed-nights (now £15 per night except for ‘reciprocal’ clubs).

Members are still £5 per bed-night.The hut team will keep a spreadsheet of bookings published on the GSG website in the Members area, attached to the Hut Bookings Calendar. If anyone just wants to express general interest Julian Walford () can also keep them informed of who is booking by email. Julian also hopes to set up a MM26 WhatsApp group so people can plan trips, liftshares or anything else.
