Midsummer BBQ 2026 – Book now


The Midsummer BBQ is an annual event to enjoy the longest day of the year with good food and underground adventure in the GSG bunkhouse in Elphin, nestled in the beauty of the Highlands’ biggest caving area.


The Midsummer BBQ will be held on Saturday 20 June, less than seven weeks away.

Bring your own drinks, meat and rolls. GSG will provide a few salads and charcoal for the barbeque!


There is plently of local caving on offer, including leisurely mud digging at ‘worm sump’ in Cnoc nan Uamh where the dig to clear the sump of mud has started.


Bed-night bookings and payments for your stay should be accompanied by an email to both the Bookings Secretary ()

and the GSG Treasurer () containing your name, amount paid, payment reference, date and number of member/guest nights booked.
