Book release: The Caves of Islay by Graham Little

To preorder, please e-mail with ‘The Caves of Islay’ as the subject.

The Caves of Islay is a richly illustrated, full colour, A5 format, laminated card-back book with 330 pages on high-quality paper designed for ‘field’ use. It will be published in late summer 2026.

This book, the culmination of over two years of field research, is a comprehensive record of Islay caves including caves that have never previously been located, mapped or explored.

The book opens with a global overview of how caves are formed, what they have been used for and why they are so fascinating. As well as detailed descriptions of hundreds of individual Islay caves, it includes sections on past exploration, mapping, naming, folklore, human habitation and species habitat. It also describes the wealth of flowstone features (stalactites and stalagmites etc.) that can be seen.

As there will be a limited print run, the actual number of copies available will be based upon pre-orders.

The cost will be about £30 (excluding packing and postage).

If you would like a copy of this unique guide please e-mail
