The Group runs a field hut in Elphin, Sutherland. It is ideally situated, in the middle of Scotland’s best caving area – Assynt.
The Elphin Caving Centre (ECC) is a renovated and extended croft building in Elphin, 24 km north of Ullapool.
It has self-catering accommodation for 20 people, heating, toilets, hot showers, gas rings for cooking, a microwave oven, parking for eight cars, crockery, fridge, and comfy bunk beds. An additional asset is the superb view of Canisp, Suilven and Cul Mor from the conservatory – we would boast it’s the best view from any caving hut in the UK!
The ECC is to the right (east) of the main road just after the telephone box on the left when you are travelling north through Elphin. Cost per person is £10 per night for non-members and £5 per night for members.
